Lumigan

Lumigan is a drug in the form of eye drops, which is primarily used to treat symptoms of glaucoma. This eye drop also helps to decrease pressure in the eyes by increasing the amount of fluid that is drained in your eyes. Although it is basically used as a medicine for glaucoma, Lumigan is also prescribed for the growth of healthy and new eyelashes. Lumigan promotes the length, volume and color of eyelashes. The active ingredient in Lumigan is Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution. This eye drop is used to treat patients with ocular hypertension as well as open angle glaucoma. This eye drop is also used to relieve pain caused in the eyes due to pressure by lowering the intraocular pressure. Pressure is caused in the eyes due to glaucoma and this can ultimately lead to loss of vision. If you wear contact lenses, make sure you remove them before you administer these drops on your eyes. You can wear your lenses 15 minutes after you have administered the drops in your eyes. Lumigan can produce some side effects: change in color of the eye, parts of the iris in the eye or sometimes the entire iris may start turning brown, disturbance in perception of color, blindness, difficulty in seeing at night, halo around light, oversensitivity to bright colors or lights, blurred vision, double vision, dryness in eyes, swelling, pain and redness in the eyes, inner lining of eyes or in the eyelid, burning sensation or itching sensation in eyes, tunnel vision.
