FML

FML is used to treat inflammation and pain in the eye occurring as a result of injury, allergy or infection. FML contains the active ingredient Fluorometholone, which belongs to a type of medicines known as corticosteroids. This ingredient helps to reduce the release of the chemicals that cause the inflammation to occur, which in turn helps to reduce the inflammation. FML should apply them to the eyes directly. First, the patient should tilt their head back. Then, they may pull down the lower eyelid and make a pouch. One drop may then be applied into the pouch, after which the patient should look towards the ground and keep their eye closed for 1 minute. Light pressure may be applied to the corner of the eye using the finger in order to prevent the medication from dripping out. The exact dosage and frequency of application varies depending on the severity of the condition being treated. Patients should consult their physician before using these eye drops in order to determine the correct dosage required to treat their condition. Patients may notice stinging in the eye or blurred vision for 1 to 2 minutes after applying FML. If these effects persist or worsen, consult a physician. Prolonged use has been known to cause high pressure, cataracts or eye infections.
